My Work

Philosophy

The point of life, to me is to be happy and happiness is about being aware of and appreciating what you have. Appreciation comes from seeing and in order to see you have to look.

Photography involves looking, seeing and appreciating what is out there and capturing a moment of the essence of the subject. Taking photographs allows me to share a moment in which what I saw caused me to draw breath, and my objective is to pass on this feeling to other appreciative people.

Equipment

I use digital cameras for all of my work, and for the most part I try to achieve the most natural look of my subjects. I use mild and subtle 'enhancements' over the more exaggerated manipulations, and I prefer to photograph subjects in their own natural environments.

Printing

I have a high quality printer which can print medium sized photographs (up to A3) and which are highly resistant to fading. I currently have canvasses printed by a local printing company.

Frames

Small and medium mounts I cut myself and I have frames made by a local expert frame-maker. Final assembly, signing and sealing are all done by me.

All work limited edition, signed pieces

Although I use local expertise in the production of some of my work, I personally am involved at every stage of the process. All mounted and framed pieces are assembled by me and every piece of work is an individually signed limited edition, many of which will only ever be used once.

Forthcoming on-line shop

In due course this website will be extended by the addition of an on-line shop facility through which you can purchase images in a range of mounted, framed or canvass prints. Unil then, if you have an interest in my work, please get in touch via the e-mail address on the Contact page.
